Biography

Amy Trachtenberg attended California State University, Sonoma, where she received a B.A. in French and liberal studies and L’école National Superieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris, where she received the Diplôme d’Art Plastique.  Her work has been exhibited at the Los Gatos Art Museum, California; the California Historical Society, San Francisco; and the Monterey Museum of Art, California; among others.  Trachtenberg has created numerous public and site-specific installations and commissions including those at the Hillview Library, San Jose, California and Pixar Animation Studios, Emeryville, California.  She is represented in the collections of the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, California; Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, California; San Francisco Arts Commission, California; and San Jose Public Art Program, California; among others.

This would be the first work by Trachtenberg to enter SJMA’s collection. (SJMA Collection's Committee, 2010)
